Specialist Clinical Psychologist

Job Summary

Are you a HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist who has an interest I the field of neurodivergence? Mental Health and Wellbeing Services Ltd. (MHWS) is a fast-growing, CQC-regulated service with real ambition. We are expanding our neurodevelopmental assessment team to meet growing demands within both our private and NHS-commissioned services.

You would work within a supportive multidisciplinary team (MDT) to deliver comprehensive autism and ADHD assessments. Training in both autism and ADHD assessment will be provided, including UKAAN course, ADI-R and ADOS training.

Main duties of the job

Clinical duties

• Comprehensive Autism Assessments: Conduct comprehensive autism assessments as part of an MDT, using gold standard assessment tools, including ADOS and ADI-R, and clinic interviews. This includes consideration of impact, differential diagnoses or co-occurring conditions, and risk assessment.
• Comprehensive ADHD Assessments: Conduct high-quality ADHD assessments, utilising clinic interviews and analysis of CAARS to support with reaching diagnostic conclusions. This includes consideration of impact, differential diagnoses or co-occurring conditions, and risk assessment.
• Teamwork: Work as part of an MDT to support collaborative diagnostic decision-making.
• Comprehensive reports: Produce comprehensive diagnostic reports, ensuring accuracy, quality and timely completion.
• Therapeutic Rapport: Build trusting, affirming relationships with neurodivergent service users, and their families and carers (where appropriate).

Governance and Innovation

• High Standards: Maintain accurate clinical records within our digital platforms to meet CQC and professional standards, ensuring all clinical information is recorded within agreed timescales.
• Risk Management: Provide expert analysis of complex clinical information to manage risk and promote service user wellbeing and recovery.

Qualifications

Essential:

• Postgraduate Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by BPS
• Registered with HCPC as a Clinical Psychologist

Desired:

• Formal ADOS-2 training
• Formal ADI-R training
